People today seem to follow the path prescribed to them by society. Certain rules and laws aren’t given a second thought and are obeyed simply because they are there. I have always tried to question society and think freely but often the fear of repercussion halts me. This project was a great way to solidify [...]

Some work by Fergus Heron. He looks at public spaces, interiors and landscapes, commonly experienced places. Devoid of any people his photographs feel deserted and intriguing. It is kind of the opposite end of the work I have been doing, he uses very public places where I go to places we don’t see everyday. Still, [...]
Projection

I heard a rumour that the recently built multi-story car park down the road had a projector built in to be used for displaying images etc. Sounded perfect for displaying my images and would ‘put them back’ into their environment quite nicely. With further investigation and talking to the estates department, I discovered that the [...]

I like the diptychs and the triptych I made and so would use them for the best images to show. The one with the crane I decided to use the edit where the horizons match as it just looked better aesthetically.

After last year I was excited to go back and see this years Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize. There were some real good entries and as usually my opinion on the best photo’s in there differed to that of the judges, thats photography for you. Although I did see some wonderful portraits and as inspirational [...]

Mentioned in a previous post I found the work of Ben Cooper through ’28 days later’ an urban exploration forum. His work seems more stylised than the stuff I’ve been doing and he seems to favour a wide angled lens for a lot of his shots. As well as urban exploration (which is present through [...]

Ethics can be described as the study of what is morally right and what is not. Morality Relates to the standards of good or bad behavior, fairness and honesty, amongst other things, which each person believes in. Whether something is morally good or bad usually depends on the consensus of humanity. To be moral means [...]

A couple of videos I made using the audio recordings and photo’s I took. Captured sounds inside a building site, dripping water, my own footsteps and slamming doors in the wind. trying to get across the erie feel of these places at night. Note: not a good idea to run around deserted sites at night [...]
Trip’s and Dip’s

A few triptychs and diptychs I made from some of the best images from the past month or so. There are two versions of the skyline one and I am undecided on which is better, one has some nice clouds in the left picture but the other has the horizon meeting up.
Putting it back… inside out.

Whilst thinking how I would present/display the images I have gathered over the last month or so, keeping in mind my want to recreate the experiences I have had taken them, though it would be good to place the images back into the environment from which they came. Through large posters or data projectors I [...]
